► (1927-2002) Científico argentino. Fue premio Nobel de Medicina y Fisiología en 1984, compartido con Niels Jerne y Georg Koehler, por sus trabajos sobre los sistemas inmunológicos y la producción de anticuerpos.

Inmunólogo británico de origen argentino. En 1975, Milstein y Georges Köhler (n. 1946–m. 1995) fusionaron linfocitos altamente específicos, de corta vida, con células de mieloma, un tipo de tumor que puede reproducirse indefinidamente. Las células híbridas cumplían la doble función de secretar anticuerpos contra un solo antígeno,como los linfocitos, y de perpetuarse como las del mieloma. Esto permitió producir grandes cantidades de anticuerpos puros contra características antigénicas únicas (anticuerpos monoclonales). En 1984, Milstein, Köhler y Niels K. Jerne (n. 1911–m. 1994) compartieron el Premio Nobel.
